Artūrs Ozoliņš joins VHL hockey club Dizel Penza
After successful season in Kazakhstan Latvian hockey forward Artūrs Ozoliņš has signed contract with Russian Higher Hockey League (VHL) club Dizel Penza.
Last two seasons Artūrs Ozoliņš played in Kazakhstan and in the last season, while playing for Arlan Kokshetau, he finished regular season of the Kazakhstan Hockey league with 61 points (27 goals, 34 assists), the second most points in the league. After successful season in Kazakhstan, Artūrs Ozoliņš received offers from several VHL teams, and chose Dizel Penza.
Hockey club Dizel Penza is based in the Russian city Penza and was established on 1948. Last season the club finished 16th in the league out of 27 clubs and qualified for the play-offs, where the club lost the next vice-champions of VHL.
VHL is the second hockey division in Russia, right after the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL).
