Jānis Andersons will play for Czech club Dukla Jihlava
Latvian National Hockey Team player Jānis Andersons has joined Czech First National Hockey League club Dukla Jihlava.
After spending last season in the Ukrainian club Kompanion Kiev, Jānis Andersons will continue his career in the Czech Republic playing for the Dukla Jihlava, who finished in 6th place in the Czech 1. liga last season. During his career Jānis has already played in Czech Republic, including for the Jihlava team. He has also played for the KHL team Dinamo Rīga and has been the member of the Latvian National Hockey Team since 2008/2009.
Janis Anderson’s agent Raivis Ušackis: “Jānis joined PRIME agency only recently, when most of the KHL clubs had already finished building their roster, but I think that Jihlava club is a great step forward. Moreover Jānis can speak Czech language very well, which is a great advantage for him. I wish him all the best this season.”
Jānis Andersons: “I happy to return to Czech Republic after Ukraine. This season I will play for Jihlava club, but I still have a valid contract with Czech Extraliga club Trinec, who can loan me or transfer against compensation. My future goal is to play in KHL and to fight my way up in the Latvian National Team and to prove myself as a stable player there. I will train and play in order to achieve my goals and in order to be called up for the Latvian National Team.”
