MBC Mitteldeutscher is German Basketball Bundesliga (BBL) club based in the city of Weissenfels. Last season the club finished 16th in the BBL with 13 wins in 34 games. The team is coached by Silvano Poropat, who previously has coached Mārtiņš in Ventspils.
Comment of coach Silvano Poropat on Mārtiņš joining MBC Mitteldeutscher: “During my time in Ventspils I coached Martins and I followed up his development as a player always. Even though he is just 22 years old, he already brings a lot of experience, has played in European competitions, played a couple of finals and even played already for his country one European Championship. He is a fighter, plays with lot of passion and is a true team player with a lot potential. We want to help him with his development and we are sure he will make his next step of career with MBC. In Ventspils I brought him in to this level and gave him the chance to play. He did pretty well and made his way after this.”
