Uvis Helmanis to coach BK Valmiera/ORDO

Uvis_HelmanisBasketball coach Uvis Helmanis will be the new head coach of the current Latvian basketball champions BK Valmiera/ORDO.

For the previous three seasons Uvis Helmanis was the head coach of another Latvian team – Liepāja/Triobet, and in 2015/2016 his team reached Latvian league top 4, but lost to BK Ventspils in the bronze medal series (2-3). In 2014 he won Baltic Basketball League cup. Before Liepāja Uvis Helmanis was an assistant coach for VEF Riga, where he won two Latvian championship titles.
